November 2015 Meeting

On November 3rd at the monthly meeting we will have our final beginners’ session for the year and be able to sample honey from all over Western Washington. We also will be holding our annual club garage sale for all the members to trade or sell their equipment to each other.

7:00 – 7:45 Beginners’ Session: Overwintering and Final Year Q&A by Robert Clark
The weather has turned with chilly rainstorms appearing almost consistently. So the bees are clustering up ready to weather out another winter. Hopefully they got enough stores to get through!
7:45 – 8:00 Tea Time and Honey Tasting
Bring a small jar of your honey, label the hive location and your best guess as to the hive’s forage. Fruit, baked goods or other treats are all welcome.
8:00 – 9:00 Annual Beekeeper’s Garage Sale
Bring all that extra beekeeping stuff that has been gathering wax moths over the years. Time to turn it into some cash so you can get your very own new shiny beekeeping equipment or perhaps trade it for that queen catcher that you stepped on while catching that swarm.

Meetings are 7:00-9:00 pm on the first Tuesday of each month at Meadowbrook Interpretive Center (directions to Meadowbrook) and are open to the public.
