October 2016 Meeting

On October 4th at the monthly meeting we will hear from Bob about a fun side activity that any beekeeper can get into, Making Mead. Robert also will be presenting on basic beekeeping for all the new (and those that want to be new) beekeepers!

7:00 – 7:30 Basic Beekeeping by Robert Clark
Now that the bees are set for winter what are we going to do as beekeepers to prepare for spring and make sure the colony survives?
7:30 – 8:00 Tea Time
8:00 – 9:00 Making Mead by Bob Combs
Bob will be presenting on his highly requested mead making class. Learn what to do with the slush that you have after you extract that pure golden honey. Learn how yeast and honey selection creates a wide range of flavors.

Meetings are 7:00-9:00 pm on the first Tuesday of each month at Meadowbrook Interpretive Center (directions to Meadowbrook) and are open to the public.
