September Meeting and Auction

On September 1st at the monthly meeting we will be holding a silent auction for the club nucs. They will be graded at the apiary before the meeting and if you win you get to take one of the 9 nucs home. Just remember to return the nuc box for next year’s apiary program.

As for the meeting we get to learn about mead making for all that excess honey (or honey that didn’t get completely cured) from our very own Bob Combs.

6:00 – 7:00 Hands On Apiary Lessons by Bob Combs and Charles Schaffer
Not a true lesson but Bob will be performing winter preparation inspections for selling the nucs.
7:00 – 7:30 Beginners’ Session: September Activities by Robert Clark
What should we be doing during the month of September?

Remember the silent auction will be happening at this time, so take some time to head back and bid for your wintering nuc.

7:30 – 8:00 Tea Time
8:00 – 9:00 Mead Making, yet another fun facet of beekeeping. with Bob Combs

We will be learning on what it takes to make a home batch of mead with all that excess honey you have lying around..

Meetings are 7:00-9:00 pm on the first Tuesday of each month at Meadowbrook Interpretive Center (directions to Meadowbrook) and are open to the public.
